After a long wait, Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is back in rumors. Earlier it was heard that company will nix the much anticipated device and replace it with Redmi 5 Plus instead, but now it has been heard that the device is going through testing phase and may soon be out in the market.
In such a scenario it makes sense to recollect all the rumors about it, which we’re going to do in this article. Let’s take a look on all the features, price and expected release date of this smartphone:
Redmi Note 5 Rumored Features
Redmi Note 5 is rumored to come with a 5.99-inch 2K resolution (1,080 x 2,160 px) display having 18:9 aspect ratio and narrow bezels. It’s also likely to be powered by Snapdragon 632 processor, and sport dual lens camera on its back. We’re also expecting a 5mp selfie shooter, MIUI 9 based on Android 7.1 Nougat and memory configurations of 3GB-32GB and 4GB-64GB.
Among all these things if there’s one thing that’s disappointing, it’s Android 7.1 Nougat. It would be much better if company can somehow bring this device to market with Oreo.
Redmi Note 5 Expected Price
The price of this device is a matter of great speculation. While earlier reports had suggested that it will come at a price of CNY 1,599 (roughly 15,000 INR), a new leaked report from GizmoChina suggests it may be priced at 699 Yuan instead, which translates to 7,000 INR. GizmoChina’s report was based on a MIUI forum post. The forum post was about a contest that Xiaomi was holding, and among the prizes of that contest was this upcoming Redmi Note 5 smartphone. Its price listed in the post was 699 Yuan.
However, the same GizmoChina report also points towards the possibility of a typographical error, and suggests that it’s possible that the mentioned smartphone is Redmi Note 5A instead. So we don’t exactly have an idea about the price of this device as of now.
Redmi Note 5 Expected Release Date
It’s expected that Xiaomi may release Redmi Note 5 at Mobile World Congress in last week of February. The device has a huge goal to achieve, which is to retain the momentum of sales built by its predecessor Redmi Note 4. It will be interesting to see how successful it remains in the market.
