2017 is about to end in a few days, and all major companies are done with their smartphone launches for this year. The rumors and leaks for next year’s smartphones have already started pouring in, but before we get into that madness it makes sense to take a look at the best smartphones launched in 2017. And that’s what we’re going to do in this article. Let’s begin:
Apple iPhone X:
In 2017 Apple celebrate their 10th anniversary and they launched the special edition of iPhone and that is Apple iPhone X With its stunning design, almost entirely bezel-less display, face recognition and super powerful A11 Bionic chip iPhone X is unarguably the most powerful smartphone launched in 2017. Even though it has a hefty price tag of about a thousand dollars, you won’t feel disappointed for the money that you spend on it.
iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus:
On the other hand, if you don’t want to spend a thousand bucks on your phone but still want something that’s as powerful as iPhone X then Apple has two other options for your – iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. Both of them have pretty much everything that’s present in iPhone X, except for the bezel-less display and face recognition.
Samsung Galaxy Note 8:
A flagship product from Apple’s traditional rival, Samsung Galaxy Note 8 comes with Snapdragon 835 SoC, 6GB RAM, 12mp dual-lens primary camera and 6.3 inches large Infinity display. The biggest advantage of this device is that it has got plenty of powerful camera tricks up its sleeve, like the ability to capture DSLR-like portraits with bokeh effect or blurred background. It even allows the users to control the strength of these background effects, something which is not present in many other smartphones with dual-lens cameras.
Samsung Galaxy S8:
Unsurprisingly, the fourth best smartphone of 2017 is also from Samsung. One of the company’s flagship products for the year, Samsung Galaxy S8 comes with a 5.8-inch large Infinity (bezel-less) display, Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor, 4GB RAM and 12mp primary camera.
Xioami Mi Mix 2:
Xiaomi is given the credit of setting the bezel-less trend in a big way, and that was with its first Mix smartphone. Now with Mix 2 company has taken the game to next level. This is the only smartphone which comes close to iPhone X in this bezel-less game, and with its 5.9 inches large display, Snapdragon 835 octa-core chipset and 6GB of RAM it’s almost as powerful as Galaxy Note 8. However, it lacks the dual lens camera.
Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2XL:
The Pixel smartphones launched by Google this year are also among the best smartphones one can buy. While Pixel 2 XL comes with a 6-inch display having narrow bezels, Pixel 2 is just a usual smartphone in that regard with the normal 5-inch display. Both these devices come with Snapdragon 835, 4GB RAM, 12.2mp primary camera and of course, Google’s promise of regular Android updates for a long time. However, the downside of these smartphones is that they don’t come with dual-lens cameras.
LG is another smartphone manufacturer which manages to launch some awesome flagship smartphones every year, so its presence in this list is also not surprising. The company had launched its V30 phablet a few months ago, and it’s also one of the most high-end smartphones launched in 2017. It comes with a 6-inch bezel-less display, Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB RAM, 16mp dual lens primary camera and a stunning look that makes it feel as premium as most other smartphones in this list.
Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro:
We also have two great smartphones from Huawei on our list. Both these devices come with 5.9 and 6 inches large displays, respectively, but Mate 10 Pro has got the narrow bezels while Mate 10 comes with regular bezels. Both are loaded with company’s own HiSilicon Kirin octa-core chipsets, but Mate 10 comes with 4GB of RAM while its Pro sibling has been blessed with 6GB RAM. And in the camera department, both come with 12mp+20mp dual lens primary cameras.
While not a device with narrow bezels, Nokia 8 still emerges in our list of best 2017 smartphones. It comes with a 5.3-inches large display, Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor, 4GB RAM and 13mp dual lens primary camera.
Finally, we have another device on our list which doesn’t follow the bezel-less trend, and that is HTC U11 but thanks to some good specs, manages to find itself some space here. It comes with a 5.5-inch display, Snapdragon 835 processor and 6GB RAM. Its camera is also a 12mp single lens shooter. However, one thing that differentiates it from other smartphones is its 128GB internal storage, along with expandable capacity up to 2TB.
So this was our list of best smartphones launched in 2017. We’ll keep you updated with best smartphone launches in 2018 as well, so keep checking back.
