The bezel-less trend is in full form now, as more and more companies are adopting it in their devices. By now almost all major smartphone makers have already launched their bezel-less offerings in the market, and now this Chinese smartphone maker called Gionee is set to take this trend to an all new level by launching not one or two but 8 different bezel-less smartphones in one day.
Yep – you read it right! Gionee is holding an event on November 26 in Shenzhen, China and at the event it’s expected to announce 8 different smartphones, all with bezel-less displays. The invites for this event have already been sent out, and this estimate of 8 different devices has come from that invite itself. The invite, as you can see in the image given below, shows 8 smartphones with different shapes and form factors but one similarity: the similarity of narrow bezels.
The event will be live streamed in China, and while Gionee’s invite doesn’t reveal the names of devices that’re going to be launched, Android headlines has claimed that five of those devices will be known as:
- Gionee F6
- Gionee M7 Plus
- Gionee M2018
- Gionee S11
- Gionee S11 Plus
Other 3 devices may be some completely new offerings, minor upgrades of some existing products or a few more versions of these five smartphones. In this entire range Gionee M7 Plus and M2018 are expected to be the top-end models. Both of them are expected to come with latest 6.43-inch AMOLED display and 6GB of RAM at least.
Among others, Gionee S11 is rumored to come with a Mediatek MT6763 octa-core processor, 4GB RAM and 6-inch Full HD display. The device is also rumored to sport a 16mp primary camera and 5mp secondary camera.
Besides these two devices, another Gionee device with four cameras (two on back, two in front) has also been spotted by the rumor mill. It’s powered by a 2.5GHz octa-core chipset, 6GB RAM, 64GB internal storage, 16mp dual-lens primary camera and 20mp+8mp dual-lens secondary camera. Tipsters suggest that it may be another version of S11, probably S11 Plus or something else. In case you don’t remember, Gionee S10 was also launched in 3 different variants.
Despite all these differences, all the devices are expected to have some similarity in form of a single 18:9 aspect ratio for their displays. Another similarity among all these devices will be Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system.
The pricing and availability details of all these devices will be revealed on November 26, but we already know that at least some of them will come to India and other major smartphone markets as well. More details are awaited, and we’ll update you as they’re released.
