Samsung Galaxy S9 has already been launched, and now all focus is on Galaxy Note 9. The focus and expectations both are also quite high this time, largely because Samsung has left considerable room for improvement in its first flagship of 2018. Will Galaxy Note 9 fill those gaps? How will it compare against Galaxy S9? These questions are already doing the rounds in the heads of many Samsung fans. And while no concrete answer is available to these questions as of now because leaks about Note 9 are scarce, I’ve tried to put together an answer in this comparison of possible Note 9 specs with already known specs of Galaxy S9. Have a look at my comparison to figure out just about how better Galaxy Note 9 may be in comparison to Galaxy S9.
Samsung Galaxy S9 vs Galaxy Note 9: Display
The displays of Galaxy Note series have traditionally been bigger and richer than Galaxy S series, and that will undoubtedly happen once again. We expect a 6.3-inch display with 1,440 x 2,960 px resolution at least. In comparison, Galaxy S9 comes with 5.8-inch large display having same resolution.
Galaxy S9 vs Note 9: Performance
Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is expected to excel over Samsung Galaxy S9 in the department of performance as well. It’s general knowledge that the device will come with same processors that are loaded in S9 – Snapdragon 845 or Exynos 9810, depending on the markets. That is because these are the best chipsets available in the market right now, and probably for the whole year of 2018. However, the RAM capacity of Galaxy S9 is not class leading. It comes with just 4GB of RAM, which is not something that Samsung would want to install in Galaxy Note 9. Even Note 8 had come with 6GB of RAM so we can safely assume Note 9 to come with this minimal RAM capacity at least.
Samsung Galaxy S9 vs Note 9: Camera
Samsung has added a variable aperture lens camera to Galaxy S9, so we can expect it to be present in Galaxy Note 9 as well. However, in Note 9 it’s likely to be present with dual lenses, while in Galaxy S9 it’s present with a single lens alone. This thing alone can become one of the biggest advantages of Galaxy Note 9 over S9. And if megapixel count is also increased, Note 9 will have a camera far superior than the camera of S9.
Samsung Galaxy S9 vs Note 9: Battery
Note series always requires more battery life, so it’s not surprising that company loads a bigger battery in it. Galaxy Note 9 will also have a battery around 3,500 mAh, which can give it slightly longer battery life than the life provided by 3,000 mAh battery of Galaxy S9.
Samsung Galaxy S9 vs Note 9: Other Differences
Galaxy Note 9 will also have a few other distinctive qualities that you won’t find in S9. One of them is S Pen, which is quite obvious. However, recent reports have suggested that Note 9 may also come with in-display fingerprint scanner, which will be a big thing if it happens indeed. That particular thing alone can make Galaxy Note 9 far superior than Galaxy S9.

Samsung Galaxy S9 vs Galaxy Note 9: Price
Samsung might’ve launched Galaxy S9 for $720 in the US, but that won’t happen with Galaxy Note 9 for sure. Note series has always been more premium than S series, and Note 8 already came at a price point around $800 so we can expect Note 9 to cost between $900 and $1,000 even for its most basic model.
Final Thoughts
So this was a comparison of Galaxy Note 9 and Galaxy S9 based on my expectations. Please note that this comparison is based almost entirely on my expected specs of Galaxy Note 9, and the final Note 9 device may have specifications different from the specs that I compared above. So take this comparison with a grain of salt, but the probability of these specs being present in Note 9 is very high I believe. Rest we’ll keep updating you about the possible specs and features of Galaxy Note 9 as leaks start coming in, so keep checking back.
