Vivo’s budget offering is about to have a midlife refresh for 2018 is what we come to expect from the rumors. The Chinese company associated with Oppo and OnePlus that builds competition amongst its own sibling brand in China and in India’s offline market has new ones coming out every month. Vivo Y series smartphones are mid-range smartphone line up that has good cameras and basic specifications on good design and build.
Last year December is when Vivo Y75 made its debut. It was quite a good phone in that segment, especially in the offline market. The phone had ideal design and camera specification that the company used to market. Now we expect to see an improvement in the cameras of the phone.
Vivo Y75 that released earlier this year in China was actually renamed Vivo V7+ released elsewhere. The global variant was also a hit. To follow on that Vivo has opted to up the camera game and bring in more fun this time we may see the smaller sibling Vivo V7.
CCC and TENAA certification
The phone had gone through both certifications as it is on the verge of release. The certification has given us almost all the spec it could possibly. Let us delve into the details one by one.
The processor is seen to be the same one from last year, Qualcomm Snapdragon 450. The phone has got enough memory to play around at 4 Gb which also the same. The storage is increased from 32 Gb to 64 Gb which is a good sign if the phone is introduced at the same price.
The screen as we know also have grown in size. The aspect ratio is the same 18:9 no gimmicks of a notch this time too. the display size is 5.99 inches and the resolution is 1440 * 720 Pixels. That is a pretty less pixel density when compared to its competitors in the segment. The good thing is the lesser pixels the lesser it eats the battery.
The real upgrade apart from the minor tweaks is in the camera segment. The rear camera is 13 MP camera, not a dual camera but expected to perform better than that of the Vivo Y75. The selfie camera is 16 MP shooter which seems to be a downgrade when compared to the megapixel count but we have to wait until the release to know whether it excels against the Y75.
Battery tends to remain the same at 3000 mAH. The phone runs on Vivo’s Funtouch OS 3.2 on Android Nougat 7.1
